Falcons Lose a Tough One at Calvary

The Lady Falcons first official match of the season was on the road versus the Calvary Warriors.  Things did not get off to a very good start as they commited an service error on the very first play of the game.  They did not however give up, fighting back being down 1-0 after a loss of 25-12 in the first game.  They did however manage 2.0 blocks in the first game, (2) 1/2 blocks from Laney Shipley.

The second game faired much better as they tied it up 10-10 on Jo-Annie Perez Rodriguez' ace.  They exchanged points back and forth until they took the lead 20-19 on Sidney Bergquist ace.  But ultimately surendered the lead and fell 25-23.  Sidnee Bergquist, Shipley, Olivia Bryson & Natalie Sansom all contributed with 1/2 blocks each.  Shipley had a very nice game recording three kills, 4 digs, 1/2 block & 3 assists.  Shipley led the Lady Falcons with 7 Kills and 2.0 Blocks and added 6 Assists & 7 Digs.  Perez Rodriguez led the team with 8 Assists and added 4 Kills, 1.0 Block & 13 Digs.  Nathalie Sansom led the team with 14 Digs along with 3 Kills and 1.0 blocks.

The Lady Falcons play their first home of the season against Manhattan Christian on 8/29 (Tuesday) at 6pm at Cowen Memorial Auditorium.
