Falcons Fall to #1 Manhattan Christian

The Kansas Christian women's volleyball team hosted Manhattan Christian on Friday night in Cowen Memorial Auditorium. Manhattan Christian entered the contest as the #1 team in the NCCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Top 10 Rankings. 

The Falcons would fall in three sets but gave Manhattan Christian a scare to start. After getting down early in the match, the Falcons rallied and led 20-18 in the first set before Manhattan Christian took a timeout. After the timout, the Thunder rattled off seven consecutive points to win 25-18. The Thunder then went on to win the second and third sets to take the match. 

Brendeja Holloman tallied seven kills in the loss to lead the attack for the Falcons. Latresa Saunders finished with four. Daria Korovina had a team high nine assists and 13 digs. Layla Dixon had nine digs, Larencea Doles had seven digs, and Layne Shipley had six digs. Sidnee Berquist had the only solo block for the Falcons. Holloman had two block assists whiel Korovina and Dixon each had one. 

The Falcons have four road matches this week. The first match comes on the road at Union College in Lincoln, NE at 5pm on Tuesday, September 20. On Friday, the Falcons compete in a triangular in Manhattan, KS against Manhattan Christian College and Ozark Christian College. Saturday, the Falcons head to Haviland, KS to take on Barclay College.
