Falcons Hold Off Late Game Surge to Win Second Game of the Season

The Kansas Christian Lady Falcons took a 9-point lead into the half, 29-20.  Quintella Neal led the way with 11-points.

In the 3rd quarter with 1:09 left, the Lady Royals tied the game at 39, with a made layup by Taylor Hannah.  Twenty seconds later, Neal hit a 3-pointer, pushing the lead to 42-39.  Back-to-back buckets by Laura Guillamat-Ribo & Melissah Henderson put the Lady Falcons up by 8-points with 5:26 left in the game.  Another big shot by Nickiah Metcalf with 3:20 left, gave Kansas Christian a 51-45 lead.  A big offensive rebound and put-back by Brenishia Myles, cut the lead to 4-points (51-47).  Guillamat-Ribo was fouled with 31.5 seconds left and hit both free throws, giving the Lady Falcons a 6-point lead.  The Royals score a big 3-pointer by Bailey with 0:18 seconds left, but it just wasn't enough as the Falcons came out on top, 53-50.

Laura Guillamat-Ribo led the way with 21-points (4-9, from behind the 3-point line), along with 7-rebounds.  Quinella Neal added 14-points (4 - 3's), 7-rebounds, 5-assists & 4-steals.  All 6-players for the Faclons scored in today's game.

Kansas Christians next game is Saturday, 2/3 at home versus Barclay College.  Come out and support our ladies.
