Randall Spoils Home Opener for Women's Basketball

The Kansas Christian women's basketball team took on Randall University in their first game of the 2023-24 season in Cowen Memorial Auditorium on Thursday night.

A quick start for Randall made things bleak early on for the Falcons with Randall outscoring the Falcons 38-13 in the first half. In the third quarter, the Falcons netted 15 points, but Randall pulled away in the fourth for a 76-32 win over Kansas Christian.

Laura Guillamat-Ribo posted the first double-double of the season for the Falcons with 16 points and 10 rebounds in her debut in the program. Melissah Henderson added six points and had four steals. An injury early in the game and foul trouble forced the Falcons to finish the game with four players.

Two days later the Falcons would take on William Woods in their first road game of the season falling 82-31. Nickiah Metcalf, Ashley Daniels, and Ribo each had 10 points. Ribo would grab 10 rebounds giving her two double-doubles in her first two games as a Falcon.

Tonight Kansas Christian heads to Ottawa, Kan. for a matchup at Ottawa Univeristy. Tip off is scheduled for 7pm. Two more NAIA opponents await the Falcons on the weekend when they take on Central Christian and Hannibal La-Grange.
