Kansas Christian Loses a Close One on the Road at Barclay

For the first through three quarters, Barclay controled the game.  The 4th quarter was a different story.

With 4:04 left in the 4th, Kansas Christian was able to get within 3-points on a 3-point play by Sidnee Bergquist.  Then were able to get with in 2-points at 3:31 with 2-free throws by Bergquist and with a jumper in the lane by Melissah Henderson at 2:28. Barclay had a heck of time trying to score on Kansas Christian's tight defense.  Barclay scored their first basket of the quarter with 2:46 left in the game.  Berquist went 1-of-2 from the line with 1:10 left, to get the Lady Falcons within 1-point. Barclay's shot at 0:53 came up short and Nickiah Metcalf pulled down the board giving Kansas Christian an opportunity to take the lead.

As Laura Guillamat - Ribo pushed the ball down the court, a questionable illegal screen was called on Bergquist, giving the ball back to Barclay with 0:46 left in the game.  A back-door screen layup by Barclay gave the Bears a 3-point lead 0:26 left.  Driving the ball to the basketball, Guillamat-Ribo was fouled.  She made 1-of-2 free throws cutting the lead to 2-points.  Kansas Christian forced 2-time outs by Barclay with 0:18 seconds left in the game.  A sideline turnover by Barclay gave the ball back to Kansas Christian and being down 2-points were looking for a way to get the game tied.  A 2-pointer was missed in the paint and Barclay came up with the rebound. A quick foul by Guiilamat-Ribo and Barclay all but sealed the deal with two clutch free-throws.

All six Lady Falcons scored.  Guillamat - Ribo led the way with 29-points and 4-steals.  Bergquist recorded a double-double with 13-points and 13-rebounds.
