The Kansas Christian softball team played a double header at Southwestern Christian this weekend. The Falcons would drop both games to the NAIA foe.
The Falcons showed some grit as they took a 1-0 lead in the second inning of game one and led into the fourth inning before the Southwestern Christian offense came alive. Multiple runs for Southwestern Christian in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings led to a 10-2 loss for the Falcons. Danna Wagnon had a hit, an RBI, and a run scored for Kansas Christian.
In the second game, Ari Lopez tossed a complete game but the Falcons would fall 5-2. Both teams scored a pair of runs in the first inning, but Southwestern Christian tacked on a run in the third, fourth and sixth. Baylee Highfill had a team high two hits. Alexis Williams had one hit and scored a run. Cherie Green had a hit and two RBIs. Hannah Wahl also had a hit for the Falcons.
The softball team now turns their attention to a double header at McPherson on April 8. First pitch is at 1pm.
