Lady Falcons Drop Two at Hannibal Lagrange

The Kansas Christian softball team dropped two hard fought games at Hannibal Lagrange. The Falcons were playing their second double header in as many days after earning a split at Bethel the day before.

Kansas Christian would fall in game one 5-2. Ari Lopez and Haven Kelly split pitching duties for the Falcons. Hannibal Lagrange scored one in the first before the Falcons evened the score with a run of their own in the second. Four runs for Hannibal Lagrange in the bottom of the second proved to be too much for the Falcons in the loss.

Trinitie Butler paced the hitters with two hits and an RBI. Deidre Swinford had a double and an RBI. Bayle Highfill and Ari Lopez each had one hit. Danna Wagnon had a hit, scored a run, and stole two bases.

In game two, the Falcons rallied from an early 3-0 deficit. Three runs in the third would tie the game for Kansas Christian and a run in the fifth and the sixth gave them a 5-3 lead. Hannibal Lagrange scored three times in the sixth to lead 6-5 before the Falcons tied the game again with a run in the seventh. Hannibal Lagrange would prevail, however, with a walk off run in the bottom of the seventh.

Ari Lopez pitched a complete game in the loss. Lopez also had two hits, two runs scored, and an RBI offensively. Alexis Wililams had three hits, one double, and two RBIs. Cherie Green and Deidre Swinford each had two hits. One of Green's hits went for a double while Swinford also scored two runs. Baylee Highfill had one hit, a run scored, and an RBI. Danna Wagnon also had a hit and a run scored. The Falcons stole five bases as a team led by Alexis Williams with two.
