Softball Wins First Games in Program History at Dallas Christian

The Kansas Christian softball team earned their first two wins in program history in a road double header at Dallas Christian this weekend.

The first win in program history came in game one. After Dallas Christian plated a run in the first, the Falcons tied the game in the fourth inning when Danna Wagnon had an RBI fielder's choice. The Falcons scored two more in the fifth inning and four in the sixth before holding on as Dallas Christian scored four times in the sixth and seventh innnigs. Kansas Christian would previal by a score of 7-5. 

Four Falcons recorded multi hit games with Ari Lopez, Alexis Williams, Aubrey Smith, and Sam Johnson all having two hits. Aubrey Smith had a double and two RBIs and Cherie Green hit a home run driving in three runs. Ari Lopez tossed a complete game allowing five runs on 12 hits while stirking out four and walking two. 

In the second game, Kansas Christian took the early lead with three runs in the top of the second inning. After four innings of play, Kansas Christian led 4-3. The Falcons scored three times in the top of the sixth but Dallas Christian answered with three of their own in the bottom of the inning. After another Falcon run in the seventh, Kansas Christian held the Crusaders scoreless in the seventh and earned an 8-6 victory. 

Trinitie Butler had three hits and two RBIs to pace the offense in game two. One of Butler's hits went for a double. Cherie Green and Alexis Williams also had doubles in the win. Aubrey Smith had two hits with a home run and two RBIs. Ari Lopez and Baylee Highfill each had two hits as well. Deidre Swinford started in the pitcher's circle and earned the win pitching 3.2 innings. Ari Lopez pitched in relief. 

The Falcons now prepare for a Tuesday double header at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan. at 1pm.
