Softball Gets Two Wins on McPherson Trip
The Kansas Christian softball team played in a trio of games against three showcase teams made up of elite high school prospects in McPherson, Kan. this weekend. The Falcons took on Tulsa Elite, Mac Red, aand the Blue Sox. In the first game of the weekend, the Falcons fell to Tulsa Elite 2-1 but bounced back to beat Mac Red 6-2 and the Blue Sox 8-0.
Alexis Williams went four for seven in the three games with two doubles. She also walked and stole a base. Cherie Green had a two RBI single in game two, then hit a double and stole a base in game three. Aubrey Smith went six for eight on the day and made some nice plays in the outfield. Danna Wagnon was four for seven with four doubles. Haven Kelly also had two doubles. Kenna Ferguson was strong in the pitching circle for the Falcons earning seven strikeouts on the day.
This is the first year of the softball program at Kansas Christian College. Their official schedule will begin in the spring of 2023. All home games will be played at the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy in Kansas City, MO.
