Falcons win 3-2!

It wasn't as pretty as Kansas Christian (4-3-1) had hoped, but a win is a win ... especially on the road.

"We're going home with a win tonight, and that's all that matters," said Head Coach Luke Cottage. "I think we had a bit of a wake-up call, but that's a good thing."

The game started out slow, but Coach Cottage said the Falcons had multiple opportunities to pull away, they were just unable to.

"It was a bit frustrating, but it also gave a chance for the whole team to get some opportuntiies," he said. "I was really impressed with their fight and toughness."

The Falcons played with their line-up throughout the match, trying to find the right combination to pull away from the 49ers (2-4-1). It wasn't until KCC was down 2-0 that the team finally came alive.

"Our team responded fantastically to pull even at two." Coach Cottage said. "There were some guys who may not have normally been in the lineup at that time, and so you're not always sure how they'll respond; however, in this instance the response waa everything I'd hoped it be."

The Falcons responded to tie it up and pulled ahead late with a goal by Javier Sanchez to leave Lincoln, NE with a 3-2 win.

"We rest on the ride home and get right back to it, " the coach said. "We've got some very important games coming up to position ourselves well looking ahead."

The first test in the hunt for postseason will be a match at 4 p.m. this Friday against Barclay College in Haviland, KS.
