Men's Soccer Edged in NAIA Match

The Kansas Christian men's soccer team fell the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) this weekend in St. Louis. It was the fourth time the Falcons took on an NAIA opponent on the road this year. The loss drops the Falcons to 3-4 on the season, with all four losses coming against NAIA teams.

UHSP would score twice in the first 16 minutes of the match to take the early lead, but Selemani Shukurani would cut the deficit in half just before halftime. In the second half, UHSP pulled away with three goals from the 71st to the 79th minute before Felipe Pampolim scored for the Falcons with an assist coming from Om Naing Hata. That would complete the scoring as the Falcons fell 5-2.

Shots were relatively even in the match with UHSP getting 21 shots and Kansas Christian taking 21 shots. UHSP put 10 shots on goal to the Falcons seven. Gabriel Farenzena made give saves and allowed five goals for the Falcons.

The Falcons have postponed their next match with Hannibal Lagrange and a rescheduled date will be announced later. Kansas Christian hosts Fisk University on Saturday at 3pm at Compass Mineral Sporting Fields in Kansas City, KS.
