Saint Mary Tops Falcons in Men's Soccer Match

Kansas Christian College sent their men's soccer team to the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS for the third straight road match on Saturday. The Falcons finished their three game stretch of NAIA opponents with a 3-1 loss to the Spires.

Saint Mary opened up scoring in the match with a goal in the 12th minute and added another in the 30th minute before taking a 2-0 lead into halftime. Kansas Christian got on the board and cut the deficit in half on an unassisted goal from Ombeni Mubengwa in the opening minutes of the second half. Saint Mary closed the door, however, with their third and final goal in the 70th minute. 

Mubengwa got off three shots on goal in the loss. Saint Mary controlled most of the action with 19 shots, nine shots on goal, three goals and an assist in their victory. Gabriel Farenzena played all 90 minutes in goal making five saves. 

The Falcons are back in action against Manhattan Christian in NCCAA Central Region action at 4pm on Monday in Manhattan, KS.
