Manny Valenzuela sparked the offense with a solo homer and a two-run double, while Angel Parra added four RBIs to extend the lead.
"Our offense was feeling good in this one," said Tony Hurla, Head Coach. "The bats showed up and built a comfortable lead early and took some pressure off our pitching."
Mission University scored twice in the fifth on defensive miscues and added another run in the sixth, but Kansas Christian's pitching held firm. TJ Bratton earned the win, allowing just one earned run over 4.2 innings, while Jose Ballista closed with three scoreless frames.
Kansas Christian outhit Mission 12-8 and took advantage of three defensive errors. Jake Galloway chipped in two RBIs, and Alex Rodriguez added a run-scoring double to keep the offense rolling.
"Great all-around performance," said Coach Hurla.
With the win, Kansas Christian improves to 18-8 (16-2 in conference play), while Mission University falls to 22-12.
