Kansas Christian Sweeps Champion in another Walk-Off

The game was tied at two in the bottom of the 10th when Jake Galloway singled in Drew Lippold to walk off in dramatic fashion once again and catalpolt the Falconsto a 14-8 record on the season and their 4th win in the row, sweeping Christian in a 3-game set.

"It was a great win, and weekend, for us, "said Head Coach Tony Hurla. "We didn't score a lot of runs on Saturday, so we had to figure out a way to walk away with a win."

The pitching was strong from both teams.  Tommy Thomas went 8-innings, allowing 2 runs and striking out three.  Gabe Murillo finished off Champion by shutting them down the final two frames, allwoing no runs and giving up only 2-hits.

"The pitching and defense today was huge, Hurla said. "It gave us a chance to hang in the game and eventually walk away with a win.

Angel Parra ad Jake Galloway continue to impress.  Parra has been on base 21-times in a row and is on a 10-game hitting streak.  In those ten games he has gone 20-42, 8-runs scored & 10-RBIs.  Galloway has been equally impressive, in his last 9-games, he has gone 14-33, 10-runs scored & 9-RBIs.  The whole team was an offensive juggernaught against Champion on Friday & Saturday, amassing 22-runs on 35-hits. In the Falcons 14 wins this season, they have scored at least 8-run in 11 of those victories.

"Our hitting has been clutch, especially late in games, "Hurla said. "But without a great start by Thomas, and solid innings from Gabe Murillo, we wouldn't have had that chance."

Kansas Christian is 12-3 in the Southwest Conference and will now face off against Champion Christian in Hot Springs, Arkansas on 3/28 & 3/29 and look to improve on their impressive start to the season.
