
Jesus Reyes hits 2-Solo Shots to Help Complete the 4-Game Sweep
The Falcons get on the board first in the top half of the second with a run scored by Mikall Whisler on a error by the center fielder. Then 3-batter later, Manny Valenzuela reacheds on an error by the left fielder to score two-more runs. Dallas Chrstian scored in the bottom half of the 2nd on a ground out. Kansas Christians' Jesus Reyes hits his first homerun of the game to extend the lead to 4-1. In the top of the 4th, the Falcons added three more runs. One, on a sac fly from Chris Hunter, Ben Shively scores. Then, two more on a Valenzulea home run to left field, scoring Drew Lippold. Dallas Christian scratched home a run in the bottom of the 4th on error.
In the bottom of the 6th, the Crusaders scored 3 runs, back-to-back-to-back on a single, double and single, cutting the lead to 8-4. In the 7th inning, Reyes hit his 2nd home run of the game to left field. Then the Flacons followed up with 2-more runs on a double by Brey Turner and a sac fly from Shively, pushing the lead to 11-4. Tommy Thomas was 1-out from securing a complete game victory, but ran into a little trouble, so Jesus Roman finished out the game.
Valenzuela went 3-5, pushing his average over .350 on the season and his homerun was his 5th on the season. Reyes went 2-4, 3runs, 2rbi and 2hr. Reyes is hitting .322 with 5-hrs (tied with Valenzuela & Marcos Franjul. Turner went 2-4, with a run and RBI and hit his 6th double. Thomas got his 2nd win on the season, going 5.2 innngs, striking out three.
With 4-wins, the Falcons moved to 19-17, their 6th win in a row and their 15th win on the road. Kansas Christian will travel to Baldwin City, KS on Wednesday (April 17) for a single game against NAIA Baker Univeristy. The game starts at 6pm.
