
Kansas Christian Secures Win Against Mission University in the 2nd Game of the Double Header
Kansas Chrsitian struck first with Drew Lippold walking to start the game and Chris Hunter singling up the middle. Manny Valenzuelsa singled to right field, scoring Lippold from 2nd base. The next batter, Marcos Franjul hit a sac fly to center field, scoring Hunter as the Falcons took an early 2-0 lead. Kansas Christian scored three more runs in the 2nd inning on Brey Turner grounder, Mikal Whisler triple and double play that resulted in a run. The Falcons scored another run in the 3rd on a Turner single. The following inning, Kansas Christian scored their 7th run fly out to center field that resulted in Lippold scoring.
Mission University finally got on the board with a weakly hit ground ball up the middle. Then in the bottom of the 6th, the Patriots scored on a wild pitch. Kansas Christian had all they need to get the "W". Tommy Thomas earned the win, the right-hander gave up 2-runs and 5-hits, stricking out three in the complete game. Marcos Franjul provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led the Falcons with 2-RBIs. Chris Hunter went 3-for-3 at the dish.
Kansas Christian plays at Central Christian on 4/8 at 3pm for a single game before traveling to Dallas Christian for a 4-game set starting on Friday, 4/12 at 12pm.
