In Walk-off, Kansas Christian lose to Mission, 4-3
Mission University scored first in the bottom of the 1st-inning on a single to right field, then again in the 3rd inning on double to left field. Kansas Christian countered with a 2-out, 2-run triple by Chris Hunter in the top of the 5th, scoring Dustin Rector and Drew Lippold. Mission went up 3-2 on a Sac Fly in their bottom half of the 5th inning. In the 6th inning, Kris Davis singled home Marcos Franjul, tieing the game up at three.
Emmett LaFluer got out of many jams on the day. He struck out the last batter in the 1st with 2-runners on. He forced a ground out in the 2nd inning with 2-runners on. He got two Patriots to strike out back-to-back in the 3rd with 2-runners on. In the fourth with 2-runners on, he gets a strike out, a ground out and a pop up. Kansas Christian was living on the edge in every inning. And, the seventh inning was no different. Grant Claycomb retired the first batter of the 7th on a ground out. The next three batters reached on a hit by pitch, walk and single, loading the bases up. Jesus Romas was asked to get the Falcons out of this jam and get the game into extra inning. But, the Patriots had other plans as they singled up the middle scoring the winning run.
Kansas Christian has one more game with Mission University as they will try and even up the series 2-games a piece.
