Falcons Split with Baptist Bible at Home

The Kansas Christian baseball team hosted Baptist Bible College at the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy this weekend. The Falcons split the four game series and are now 16-15 on the season. 

Baptist Bible would take the first game by a score of 10-4 in extra innings. The Falcons tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, but Baptist Bible scored six times in the eighth to earn the win. Cody Ziegelmeyer tossed seven innings allowing four runs on 10 hits. He walked two and struck out four. Chris Hunter finished two for four at the plate scoring twice and stealing a base. Stay'Jawn Hunter was three for four at the plate with two RBIs and a stolen base. Jesus Reyes went two for four and scored a run. 

The Falcon bats broke out in game two scoring 16 runs in a 16-6 win. Jesus Reyes was three for three, scored three runs, and drove in four. Chris Hunter was three for five with an RBI and two runs scored. Brilynn Stults went two for thre. Kris Davis drove in two runs and had a hit. Jacob Strobel went two for three scoring two runs and driving in three, two on a home run to right center. Ben Shively also hit a two run home run. 

The Falcons took the third game of the series 4-2 on the back of a complete game from Leandro Mendez. Mendez allowed two runs on just four hits. He walked six and struck out five. Jesus Reyes had his second three hit game of the series and scored twice. Chris Hunter went two for three with a run scored. Ben Shively drove in two runs and had one hit. William Ashley and Kris Davis each had a hit and Davis had two RBIs. 

Baptist Bible took the final game of the series 8-2. Juan Polo threw 5.2 innings and struck out 11 while walking just one. He allowed just two earned runs. Falcon errors led to three unearned runs in the game. Stay'Jawn Hunter went two for three and drove in a run at the plate. Chris Hunter scored a run and had one hit. William Ashley also singled. Ben Shively had an RBI. 

The Falcons now host Dallas Christian on Friday and Saturday at the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy.
