Falcons Baseball Rallies to Top Roosevelt

The Kansas Christian baseball team rallied from an 8-0 deficit to beat Roosevelt 12-11 in their second game of the RussMatt Invitational in Florida this weekend. The Falcons were the only team to beat Roosevelt at the invitational. 

Roosevelt scored three in the first inning off the Falcons' starting pitcher Jacob Strobel. Roosevelt added four more in the second and another run in the fourth to build their 8-0 lead. Kansas Christian came roaring back in the fifth scoring six runs before Roosevelt added another run in the bottom of the inning to lead 9-6. Four Kansas Christian runs in the seventh gave the Falcons their first lead and they added on a run in the eighth and ninth innings before holding off Roosevelt for the win. 

Jacob Strobel threw 3.2 innings allowing eight runs, four earned. Grant Claycomb pitched 2.1 innings in relief before Parker Bryant threw the final three innings. Brilynn Stults led the offense with two hits, a run scored and an RBI. Stults had the only extra base hit of the game for the Falcons with his RBI double. Stay'Jawn Hunter had a hit, scored two runs and drove in a run. Jesus Reyes had one hit, scored one run, and drove in two runs. Reyes and Hunter each stole a base as well. Kris Davis had a hit and two RBIs. Ben Shively had a hit, scored two runs and had two RBIs.
